| Separated the OCC from the Cthulhu. In the beginning I thought it could just stay amalgamated, but it makes more sense that both stories have their own.
ALL VAMPIRES MUST DIE! is just an idea. Something to foll around with when people are in the mood. Kind of like Cthulhu. The idea, I am toying with is to have this story both Directed and Freeform. I think this makes more sense than the EXTRAMUNDANE concept.
What I mean is... I have this idea for a Directed segment, where the setting cannot be modified and writers basically just respond, but then eventually things will go free-form and so on. Just an idea right now.
There's a lot of good stories on the go right now, so I just tossed this one into this forum to keep it in mind.

| This is an idea I am still toying with.
I am thinking that this common horror story concept might just be an interesting setting for a different style of writing.
I was considering an environment where no characters are submitted in the beginning, because I think it would be interesting if no one knows for sure whether or not they are a sub-character. One can then use them as a vehicle to introduce a main character down the line, or build on them.
The idea would be to eventually enter your main character into the gallery, but then one would only have to add information to them as the story progressed. A build as you go, kind of thing. My reasoning behind this is eliminating, any known past of the characters, thus keeping all information in the story.
The setting itself, can provide numerous stories, but its not about rising up to fight the ultimate evil... that's pretty much impossible... it's just all about getting on in the world, and surviving. These rare people, who know what's going on, aren't really a threat to the world of monsters. If they speak up people simply think they're crazy and any proof they may have would just be attributed to some created graphics work. They are starting to increase in numbers though, and so when confrontations do occur the monsters will not hesitate to kill these 'visionaries'.

| I added a little bit on MAGIC and also introduced the word, VISIONARY, to describe what your character actually is. Basically they see the world, 'differently'.... literally. | |

| Added a bit of twist in the SETTING. Thought it would make the world more interesting. Just imagine... if all our technology no longer worked. | |

| So the idea of 'signals' no longer working, does not mean that 'technology' no longer works of course. Computers still work... but one has to use jump drives to transfer information.
Hardwire transfers no longer work as well... a signal can only exist for an extremely short distance, that's why phones will no longer work... in any capacity. Basically, the technology still exists but its isolated.

| cool...
I dumped the idea about the 'communication black out'. I think that idea alone may be a story in itself, and would detract from the simplicity of this 'monster hunt'.
Interesting character, Sin. Remember that magic in this story is just a means to an end... a tool and not really something that these, 'Hunters' want to define them. Magic = Evil, but it's a necessity. There is a fine line between the way the Visionaries use magic and the way a Witch would. The Hunter's will still kill Witches, because in this story they are considered 'monsters'.
I guess the best way to look at it... is that these people see their knowledge of the arcane as a necessary evil. They are not proud of it, and try not to let it define who they are as all magic leads one down the wrong path.
Just thought I would define that... not that your character doesn't seem appropriate. I just want to make it perfectly clear what the common theme of the story is.

| Oh, okay. I see. Not a problem. Will make a few changes so that it is more correct where the magick is concerned. It's not a problem and shouldn't take away from my character. | |

| Thanks... Yeah... even though many of these creatures will require something a little more to put them down, if they're flesh, bullets and blades will still weaken or even incapacitate them. | |

| So I was thinking of starting off with something classic. Werewolves? You know back when they were scary and not big puppy dogs that turned into really hot guys. The kind like in the movie The Howling... now that was creepy. Even the old classic, Wolfen, really made wolves out to be frightening and in reality if one's after you with intent to do damage you can basically kiss your butt good bye.
Or, maybe Zombies. They're a good staple of horror.
I'll whip something up to start us off and we'll see where it takes us. I figure with story is basically just going to one monster hunt blending into the next and underlying them can be some personal struggles. So, we'll have some event take place... a murder, or something like that to set the stage and we'll just write toward it.

| Should we have our characters meet up in the same city? I'll follow your lead, just thought it would be fun if they met up. lol As far as werewolves or zombies go, I love wolves, lol, and hate zombies. LOL | |

| Well, I guess our starting points will depend upon how the information of the event that we are working toward will reach the characters. If they see it on the internet, then they can be just about anywhere. I guess we'll see how it goes.

| There that should be a nice start. I figured Pennsylvania was fitting.
Strom is staying off the beaten path as described in the post, so I doubt anyone would end up at the Wolves Den unless they were specifically looking for it. I personally always find it a little too contrived when characters end up at the same hotels/motels when there are more than one.
I think its pretty obvious what the monsters are going to be... better load up on silver.

| So I also made a 'Director's Post'. This is an event that our characters will only see the aftermath of the next day. It's designed only to establish the monster's presence. | |

| Welcome aboard Sin. Here's the map of Kane, Pennsylvania. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wlAccommodations in Kane (just click this link)We don't have to be accurate (motels can be placed anywhere) but I've been going by the actual map. There really is a Wolves Den Motel in Kane on Smith lane. I hate to be a stickler for the rules but this is from the Character Creation Section: No filthy rich hunters that can afford rocket launchers and high-tech weaponry, please. You can be independently wealthy, but it's just not fun when someone has an unlimited arsenal and wealth at their disposal. The characters can have money, but not so much that they can fund an entire hunting expedition, if you get my meaning. So far everything's fine, but I would rather Jayden not have an unlimited cash flow. It would unbalance the story too much, especially when many of the hunters be they main characters or sub-characters will be living day to day. Great intro though. As I stated earlier I think this will be more a directed story. It's free-form but I'll assume role of guide from time to time, since this type of story is heavily reliant on monsters and they best portrayed (at times but not all the time) by a moderator. Not to say other writers can't take the reins of the opposition, its just that I'll offer guidance when needed. | |

| okay, sorry about the money thing. I will make sure that I remember that. Jayden will have money but only so that she won't have to beg. lol What about buying off the black market? Would that be okay if one knew where to look or happened upon someone who knew of someone? | |

| Oh, yeah... as long as it fits the character your portraying just about anything's possible. It seems to me that Jayden would know how to illegally acquire weapons... there's not really a problem with anything you have written so far, you just need to tone down the money a little, that's all. We don't want her turning in Lara Croft with her unlimited arsenal. Great for video game... not so great for writing. | |

| Hehe... another thick accent would be welcome. They'll start calling our characters the U.N.
I'm sure you've read over the rules. This would be classified as a semi-directed story. It's basically free-form, but I'll give some guidance once in a while to keep the plot on track. In this Episode we're huntin' werewolves.
