Please feel free to add to the scenario. Just write your ideas here and if they coalesce with the current setting we can include it. I am always open to development... this is after all, collaborative writing. Smile

Updated the characters. Parsefal Raiko, Lorryen Boshun and Priam Winter are characters from the original story that Omega Wave is based on. In this scenario, Raiko and Boshun will be agents assigned to dealing with what they refer to as 'Anomalous Genomorphs'. Their jobs are to suppress the media and locate and if possible capture any unknown Genomorphs.

(If I told ya that the character Tiphereth Sorrelwind from the Plains of Gladsheim story was actually the main character of the original story you start to get an idea of what it was supposed to be about)

Obviously there are going to be some Free-Genomorphs about who are sporting costumes and raising a ruckus if only to attract attention and attempt to make people aware of them. Right now we'll just accept that they're out there stirring up a hornet's nest but this story isn't meant to dwell on costumed super-heroes. As stated wearing a flashy costume and a mask, attracts attention plus hides ones identity which is the only reason these 'crusaders' wear them.

I also created a Sector Logo, which you'll see in the character section and also the setting.

I'll be submitting a standard character who is only just discovering their abilities as well.

Kasai has expressed a lot of interest in this scenario and has already added to the existing the information... developing the SynthGen/Sector side of things.

Information will eventually be re-organized so that things are easier to find, as looking back and forth through the info is necessary. This is thus a more 'information-detailed' style of scenario. I understand this is often perceived as being laborious... and actually it is. This is a more specific style of story, but it seems that Kasai and I are very much on the same page when it comes to this particular genre thus she will be another moderator for this story, which I feel would be a 'Directed' style, as guidance is necessary.

I do not feel this story will be a fast mover. It should be more writing intensive, in that development of the world is required with every post... thus it is far more story writing than character portrayal.

As this was an actual written story at one time I am curious to see where others will take it.

Oh and so as to not to sound discouraging... I only mean that the development of the world should compliment the character development. Because it is an uncharacteristic setting its needs attention.

Me too... this is definitely going to require a lot of story development, but I think the setting of the world is a lot of fun. I was trying not to make too futuristic... it's far easier (and more fun) to write in a setting one can relate to.

I am thinking to, that even though the 1920's fashions are all the rage... they would realistically be an amalgam of other fashions... I am thinking a 1920's + 2010 so that we can utilize the fashions we are familiar with.

In the mega-cities, the mid-core buildings would look no different than the buildings of today, except since there was a resurgence of the classic architecture of the 1930's that utilized Grecian columns and ornate masonry, there were be a lot more 'older-looking' buildings around as well giving everything kind of a retro look.

Cool-- also, I completely forgot to mention this in my character write-up, but Peter would have grabbed himself a side-arm before running away from Sector that he keeps hidden in his belt under his jacket, if that's ok

Oh, for sure. Makes sense.

I am thinking that in this future scenario, we should make it tougher for people to acquire guns. I mean, I would hope that at some time in the future SOMEONE will truly figure out how to control guns. There's a way... and this BIG BROTHER society we've created I believe it would be possible. Not that people still can't get them... where there's a will there's a way... but it would be very difficult.

Also there are scanning devices everywhere. The Sub-Core, while it is a lesser desirable place to live is still a functioning part of the city with businesses, offices, malls and such. Any well known commercial buildings will have scanners at the doorways used to detect weaponry and I figure theses devices are able to tell a knife from a pair of scissors... 'intelligent scanners'.

Obviously such things can be by passed by finding a window, or perhaps people make very expensive jamming devices. A trained telepath would also have the ability to counter them.

There are also many, many, businesses and buildings in the Sub-Core and Mid-Core that do not have these devices. I figure that in Sky-Core... the upper most level security would be the highest, then as you move down it becomes more and more lax.

How does that sound?

This will keep down the use of guns so not every 'bad guy' is going to be carrying them.

Also I alluded the technology of guns changing.

There are old fashioned 21st century guns and then there is the new technology which utilize a 'coilgun' system. These firearms no longer use a combustible cap to propel the bullet, instead they use 'electromagnetic pulse accelerator'. These weapons have far more power, a greater range, are much quieter and have less of a kick. Instead of a BANG they would have more of a WHOOSH sound. A little bit louder than a gun with a silencer. If they are silenced I guess they would be really quiet.

I figure guns would still look like our regular style guns... the firing technology just changed and the size of the mechanism required to generate the magnetism would be very small and fit in the handle of the gun or along the barrel.

* When people tend to acquire illegal guns on the street they would probably 90% of the time be of the older combustible type, which we can differentiate by calling them a 'firearm'. The newer technology can be referred to as 'pulse-arms' or 'coil guns'.

I added a 'weaponry' write-up under CULTURE & TECHNOLOGY in the SETTING topic. We don't want guns to end looking like 'cheezy' sci-fi ray guns, they look about the same, they're just more lethal.

Hey-ho!

Reading a few of these posts I guess my introduction might have featured a fairly large amount of guns, but what the heck. Mobsters and shady shopkeepers can't possibly be expected to do business without them... right?

Eitherway, I guess Sinclair has just managed to get the attention from them peeps who don't particularly fancy Genomorphs. If I had to guess I'd say they figured out he was one when he teleported out of Floyd's. Doesn't take much more than a quick look at the camera footage from the store to figure out he has such an ability, now does it?

For sure. It would not take long for the powers that be to detect a Genomorph on the loose.

From your post it seems that you have already taken into account that normal law enforcement would be ignorant of the suspects they are pursuing. ICOR, will naturally keep these cases, hush-hush.

Agents Raiko and Boshun have not yet heard of the new suspected Genomorph but they soon will. Depending on, how, the story evolves please feel free to bring in another agent if you so choose. All ICOR agents are IDS, which would now supersede all other organizations like the FBI, CIA, NSA, or Interpol.

Oh, and as for the news broadcasts of people in costumes displaying super-powers (in order to expose organizations like Sector and ICOR's secret experiments to the world) I only intended them to stay in the background for now. I think any appearances by someone wearing a costume should be infrequent. Who knows what the future may hold, but for now it's just nice to keep the story as 'Genomorphs vs. ICOR'.

Nicely done getting the characters together, Tiph. Only thing is, did you mean for Faeyt to just know Peter's name? Because he never told it to him, but that would be kind of a fun little twist if he just kind of knew it if ya catch mah drift? Twisted Evil It would depend on Faeyt's powers though, 'sup to you alien

Ah... y'know I wasn't sure. I like the idea of a telepathic slip though, that would be very much in line with the story, so yeah, we'll go with that. Faeyt, like most Genomorphs, is also a telepath, at what level remains to be seen, but regardless information could unintentionally drift from one to another subconsciously, especially when they have no real control of the ability.

Perhaps in Peter's case he might regard the exchange of info as a slight mishap on his part... maybe not being as guarded as he should. Something like that.

I thought it would be a nice twist (or perhaps, Socks intended it all along) to have Faeyt walk right into the hands of an IDS agent.

I admit nothing!

I'll look into a reaction later today, 'W C' permitting. Besides, Peter might also want to have some kind of reaction to the whole situation.

I'm a bit of a dick, but even I know better than to mess with a Goddess.

Don't turn me into a squirrel. Don't turn me into a squirrel. Don't turn me into a squirrel.

We anticipate Peter's glorious reaction. Besides, as expected the W C interfered and I'm no longer sure I should be contemplating any writing at all right now. Any serious writing anyway.

Wait, since when is my writing serious? Never mind.

What's this 'W C' you ask? Well, I think I'll be a dear and enlighten your heathen North American asses.

Or rather, not very unrelated at all.

also not very awesome...

I just put Raiko and Boshun in the running. I felt it would make sense that they would be closing in... and it seems Indigo might need some back up.
