TOTEM
Russel Good Leaf - Haida Name: Sdiithldaa - Clan Name: (Descended of Raven) Staastas

Physical Description

Canadian Native: Haida
Age: 26
Hgt: 6'2"
Wgt: 180 lbs
Dark grey eyes and long black, poker straight hair that streams down his back.
Complexion:
Brown with a reddish tone.
Common Dress Style:
Casual button-up shirt, faded blue jeans with native belt, and western style boots.
He is athletic with average strength and above average agility

Story

He grew up in Haida Gwaii, otherwise known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. Raised by his grandparents, he learned the old ways and is able to speak Haida (Tlingit), the language of his forefathers, plus Ojibwa and Cree. Under the tutor-ship of his grandparents and other members of his community, Russel has become an exceptional artist and his crafts are prevalent throughout the Western States and Canada. He markets his artwork under the name Good Leaf, which is a name associated with Eastern Native Peoples. His actual last name is Davidson but he rarely uses it.

When he was a young man, Russel discovered that he had the power to alter his own physical attributes. He could concentrate, and make himself stronger, faster or increase the range and acuity of his senses. His eyes would transform to match the animal power that he summoned, but he would have no other physical changes to denote the creature of whose attributes he was borrowing. Even though he did not physically change, however, he could still fly if he used the powers of a flying animal. As an eagle, he could see far and soar through sky as if on wings.

Being traditional, he learned to focus these abilities by what he believed was channeling the spirits of the animals but as he grew older realized that it was just a method he accepted to use his meta-abilities. Nonetheless, he could not trigger his abilities any other way and so among those who realized what he was he became known as Totem, able to channel the powers of the spirits.

Totem can only conjure one animal at a time and often maintain it for no more than an hour. He can summon the strength and senses of a bear, the speed of deer, the rage of a wolverine, the eyes of an eagle and so on. Before the Riggs Act, he used to dress up in the traditional costume of a native warrior and armed with knife, tomahawk and bow deal with poachers and other illegal activities occurring on Native land.

When R.A.I.D. came around looking for Totem, Russel avoided the registry by escaping to Oregon, where there are reserves of West Pacific Natives. They speak variations of the Oregan Athabasken Language, which is similar to the Haida tongue allowing Russel to easily learn their traditional speech and blend in. He had to leave his home, since the corrupt Haida bands, thought that they would split the reward offered by RAID if they assisted in the capture of Totem. Disheartened by the betrayal of his own people, Russel stayed in Oregon.

Russel's Vehicle:

1967 M715 Kaiser Jeep 4x4 Cargo Truck

Russel is approved.

We're getting a good variety of meta's in the story now. SA-WEET!

I think I'll introduce a 'regular' human in the near future.

Name: Sean Miller
Height:5' 8"
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 34
Hair: short and dark black
Eyes: soft white glow with black pupils
Skin tone: pitch black
Face: facial features are indistinguishable (to be explained below)
Clothing: Black hooded cloak, black gloves, boots, dark sunglasses
Ability: Sean is a living shadow. He is able to see perfectly in the dark and can change into a shadow at will. He can also merge with the shadows nearby inorder to hide for those that may come looking for him. His abilities have turned him pitch black. Everything except for his eyes are black. Sean is only able to really travel safely at night. The second side effect of his abilities is extreme photosensitivity.

Nobody really knows what happened. Sean was a normal kid. He grew up playing like kids normally do. Sure he was a little more sensitive to the sun than most so his parents always made sure he had sunblock on. It wasn't until Sean turned sixteen that things started to change. His complexion steadily grew darker and darker as his eyes started to take on a soft glow. Sean eventually withdrew completely at the age of eighteen. One night during a late night stroll he finally discovered the full extent of his powers. A car came racing down the street and as it neared Sean the young man turned into a shadow.

Fast forward six years. Sean was the hero known as the Shadow. Criminals in his neighborhood soon came to fear the shadows. When the Riggs Act was passed he had no choice but to vanish completely. He now spends his days wandering and helping people where he can. Mostly he keeps to himself since the sight of him tends to scare most people.

Approved! Very interesting character. The Shadow will be a great addition to the team, I believe he and Wraith would work well together as their powers give them a similar advantage. You may work him into the story whenever you see an opening.

Name: Frank Shepherd (Morgan's father)
Age: 50 yrs. old
Height: 6 ft. 4 inches
Weight: 240 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Body type: Muscular with a little flab around the middle
Hair: Black peppered with gray
Face: Thin, cruel lips, sharp nose, cold eyes

Frank is Morgan's father, the man who, after her mother died when she was 6 yrs. old, tormented his daughter for being different, calling names such as demon spawn, demon child, freak, etc. and constantly dragging her down verbally, emotionally, and mentally, making her feel as if she were worthless because she was different.

But Frank has his own secret. He too, is a meta-human. He can track anyone who is blood related to him through some sort of enhanced tracking instinct. Especially, Morgan. He doesn't know why it's stronger with her, but it is.

After he left a 16 yr. old Morgan on the doorstep of his brother and sister-in-law's, he went back to Pueblo to live in peace, but constantly having the urge to track Morgan, began to drive him insane. When Cassie died and Frank had heard of the consequences surrounding her death, he could take no more and left, heading for New York, thinking that he would get as far away from his freakish daughter as he could.

Over the last 5 years, Frank's mind has slowly deteriated, driving him slowly insane. Now that Morgan has shown herself in New York state, his demented mind thinks that this is his chance to rectify Cassie's death. He believes that if he hadn't have left Morgan with them, then little Cassie would still be alive, so, he must kill Morgan in order to make amends and avenge Cassie's death.

PostSubject: Re: CHARACTERS   Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:12 pm

Shinnigami is expressly a NPC character used to enhance the storyline when necessary.
He must remain fairly neutral as his very presence can dramatically tip the scales of just about any scenario.
Please feel free to use him, but use him wisely and only as a non-player
since he is far too powerful to become a major character.

Hgt: 5'10" • Wgt: 170 lbs • Hair: Black (worn long often in a top-knot) • Eyes: Dark

Shinnigami prefers to dress traditionally when he has been employed to perform his trade. He prefers to wear white, as he takes it as personal challenge to himself to not allow is clothes to become soiled nor let one drop of blood fall upon them. He fights with two katana, ancestral swords he has named Kaze (pronounced 'kah-zay', meaning 'wind') and Ame (pronounced 'me' with a short 'e', meaning 'rain')... Wind and Rain.

Akemi Yoshida, as he was otherwise known was the perfect assassin. Trained in the art of the sword since he could walk, he never missed a mark and so people in the underworld began to associate the Japanese swordsman with 'Death' himself. He was a meta-human, gifted with two abilities that when used together with his extraordinary fighting skills made him virtually unbeatable. The first of his mutant talents was clairvoyance, which he had honed into a powerful tool allowing him to push his 'mind's eye' far beyond his body at will, allowing him to spy on his prey from great distances and he combined this with his other powerful ability — teleportation. Shimigami could in the blink of an eye move to any place he was visually accustomed to and so once he saw his victim he was upon them. His blade appeared out of nowhere striking down his quarry and even if they could challenge him in open combat, his martial arts and his speed were legendary.

Akemi also possesses a very acute sixth sense. A natural gift, it has been greatly enhanced by years of training and almost borders on precognition (like Spiderman's sixth sense). It lets him second guess an opponents move, even perceive the path of a projectile before it takes flight, allowing him to use his incredible speed and precision to deflect even a bullet. The ability does not, however, make him untouchable as in close combat thoughts are moving too quickly for him to properly anticipate everything. It does render ranged attacks that require a moment to aim, virtually useless against him, as he will always know where not to be where guns are concerned.

His training and meta-human blood has also allowed him to develop his chi-energy to a level where he can generate an intense 'telekinetic-like' pushing attack or even ignite flammable objects when necessary.

He follows the code of bushido, although his own interpretation provised somewhat of a skewed version. Still, he is an honourable man, who despite his trade does not take life and death lightly. He will not harm the weak and innocent no matter what the price, nor will he stand aside and watch the strong abuse what he feels is 'beautiful'. He believes that if one takes up a sword to kill they should be prepared to fight an adversary comparable to their own strength if not greater.

A character trait that could be perceived as a weakness is that he enjoys a challenge and does not like to fight anyone who is not at their strongest if he feels that they would provide him with some competition.

Approved with Tiph's words of warning about the character.

And with my own: If you decide to use Shinigami against the way he is to be used as Tiph described, you will be removed from the thread and prohibited from rejoining.

BRONZE DEVIL

REGISTERED META-HUMAN

True Identity: Gabriel Czarnecki

APPEARANCE
Gabriel is 121 years old, but ages extremely slow both physically and mentally. He still had the physique of a man in his late twenties, but unfortunately even though he has amassed a lot of experience views the knowledge through the eyes of man much younger.

He stands 6'9" and weight 350 lbs (due to the increased density of his muscles). His skin is bronze coloured with a slight metallic sheen to it, his hair is a glossy auburn and his eyes (which appear pretty much Human) are a bright blue.

LANGUAGES
English, Polish, some Ukrainian.

HISTORY
Gabriel was born on April 30th, 1889 in the small coastal town of Hel located on the tip of the Hel Peninsula, 33 kilometers from the Polish mainland. At that time it was not yet part of Poland, but had been granted the status of a sea-side resort.

As a child, he looked no different than any other Human and grew and aged at normal rate, but on his 22nd birthday he began to change. His skin began toughen up and change colour to that of a metallic bronze. He became stronger and as his 23rd year drew near he began to sprout horns from his forehead.

The people of Hel, being superstitious persecuted Gabriel as man who invited a devil into him and he was driven from his home and family. Everywhere he went, the young man was driven away until at last in 1914 he made it to America where he found acceptance alongside the defender of justice, Batallion. His stay in the New World, was brief as his new comrades whisked him back to Europe to assist in the First World War. It was during that long campaign that civilians and soldiers began to call him the Bronze skinned Devil, which eventually was shortened to Bronze Devil. The good devil that was the right hand of the angel, Battalion.

By the end of the war, in 1918, Gabriel had seen enough blood to last him a life time and Battalion swore to never again meddle in the affairs of governments, but the Bronze Devil would go on to fight in many more wars, including World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He believed he was making a difference, but in the end he realized that he was just being used and so near the end of the Vietnam conflict, a bitter and dejected Bronze Devil returned to the States in 1973 only to face angry mobs that supported the Wilson Meta-Human Regulation Bill.

While dealing with the hate crimes inspired by the 'Lynch King's' support of the Wison Regulation for Meta-Humans, Gabriel met the super-hero Wraith for the first time on the violent streets of L.A in 1974. Together they fought crime, even occasionally assisting the mighty 'Battle Lion', as he was sometimes called, when he went up against such super-villains as Cobalt and Dark Soldier.

Gabriel married his wife, Julie (Juliana Poznanski) in 1990 and retired from crime fighting in 1991. Occasionally he still does secretly lend a hand to the resistance when they require him, but only on those missions where he won't be seen and recognized, since it's not like he can easily disguise himself. Most of the time, the Bronze Devil helps the community by volunteering at some of the youth centres in Ukrainian Village or once in a while speaking at seminars.

It is 1991 and Toril is still working for Beacon. He is between assignments and has decided to visit his old friend Gabriel Czarnecki whom he used to battle crime with back in the good old days, before they killed Battalion and he himself was almost killed by the very police he was trying to help.

Gabriel had officially retired as a super-hero and had settled down in the area called Ukrainian Village in Chicago. He was a legend in that city, and Toril had on more than one occasion assisted the 'Bronze Devil' as he was known, to take down his arch-enemy, the Plague Knight. He and his lackeys literally 'plagued' the city at one time but now that the super-villains were all locked away or dead, Gabriel thought it best to count his blessings and retire while the public still admired him.

When the Riggs act was passed he was one of the first to register and has walked the straight and narrow ever since. He owns his own club, 'The Devil's Grin', a bar, restaurant and a comedy club located in Chicago (1801, Erie Street West, at the corner of Erie and Wood. It's in Ukrainian Village. (773) 389-1234) and lives a few blocks away an old three story character home, constructed in 1905. The club and everything else he owns is in his wife's name which she never changed, just incase the government every tried to threaten him by taking away his property.

POWERS/ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT

Invulnerability
Gabriel is gifted with an aura, much like Battalion had. While his natural skin is far tougher than a regular human's, his aura allows him to repel standard caliber rounds and repel blades propelled by less than extraordinary power. He is immune to the effects of Fire, and his skin will not burn nor blister when contacted by extreme heat.

Heightened Strength
His increased muscle density makes Bronze Devil very strong, but his aura makes him super strong. Gabriel is able to lift objects as heavy as bus and punch through concrete walls.

Equipment
The Bronze Devil, when necessary will use guns.

Vehicle

1942 WC-53 Dodge Carry All
Gabriel calls her 'Kerry' and has had her since she rolled off the assembly line. The vehicle has been significantly modified through the years.

Name: Allie Jameson aka Flaming Angel
Age: 23
Hair: Long, thick, black
Eyes: Black, except when she casts fire, then they look as if there is a flame burning inside of them.
Body: Athletic, tanned
Style of Dress: Anything black or dark red
Special Abilities: Able to build fire from heat within her and around her. Can throw fire balls, cause something to ignite, or just light someone's cigarette.
Tatoos: Burning red moon over a mountain setting on her right shoulder blade.

Allie was born into a prominent family on the north end of Chicago in a big house. Her parents doted on her, loved her, were always there for her. Until she turned 13. Then her world came crashing down.

The thief had broken in between midnight and one o'clock in the morning, wanting to steal anything that would bring in money for his drug habit.
Her father had woke up to the commotion downstairs and got out of bed. Telling his wife and daughter, who had come into the room, frightened, to stay there and call the police. He headed downstairs with a baseball bat, finding the thief in the dining room, stashing silver silverware into a small bag. The thief had seen Mr. Jameson's reflection in the glass of the hutch, turning with a gun drawn, fired, hitting Mr. Jameson in the chest at point blank range.

There was a scream from Mrs. Jameson and the thief looked over to the entryway to the dining room and saw the wife and daughter. Lifting the gun, his eyes hard behind the ski mask, he prepared to shoot when a wind began swirling around the room, small at first but gaining in strength quickly. Looking over at Allie, he sees her blue eyes glowing, the orange rim around her blue iris brighter then the blue. Her hair is whipping around her face as a firey tornado seems to wrap itself around her. It was clear that the fire was coming from her.

Her mother ran to her fallen husband as the thief fired at Allie, missing her, barely. Lifting her right arm, she forced the fire to shoot in a stream at the thief, his clothes catching fire, then he himself, his screams echoing throughout the house. She somehow kept the fire contained to just him and nothing else. She didn't speak, she just threw him through the french doors leading out to the deck off of the dining room, shattering the glass and wood and slammed him into the wooden slats of the deck, dead and burned. Just as quickly as it had begun, the fire went out.

As the heat died down, she ran to her parents, her mother sobbing, her father still alive. Her mother looked at her, fear in her eyes. "What are you?! You are not our daughter!" That was when the police showed up, busting through the doors, followed by the paramedics. Thinking that Allie was in shock as she was not moving, they treated her for that, taking all of them to the hospital.

The next few weeks were a blur. At thirteen years of age, she was sent to a work camp for meta-human problem children out on the outskirts of Chicago, where she stayed until she was 18. It was not a nice place to be this work camp. She was in a dorm with other girls. They all learned quickly to stick together and they could protect each other.

At 18, Allie was released, put out on the street to fend for herself. She learned how to steal and pick-pocket, gaining money this way for clothes and food.

When she turned twenty, she went home to see her parents, having found out that they had never moved. It was a bittersweet reunion. Her father was estatic to see her, while her mother was not. Allie then found out that it was her mother who had turned her over to the authorities while her father had been in a coma. It was her mother who had intercepted any of her father's letters to her, not sending them. It took everything Allie had learned in self control to not lash out at her mother with her abilities.

Her father, loving as always, told her the only reason he stayed with her mother, was because there had never been a prenup contract and he didn't want Allie's mother getting a dime. He had set up a trust fund for her when she was born and it was now worth 10.5 million dollars. She could begin drawing from it when she turned 21. Until then, he would set up an allowance for her in the amount of ten thousand dollars a month, to make up for what her mother had forced her to endure. The allowance would come from him, not her trust fund.

Since then, Allie has still kept a low profile, helping those in trouble now, instead of stealing from them. She lived in the warehouse district, in a large upper floor warehouse that she'd had decorated and seperated into rooms. She drove a vintage 1968 Mustang. It was painted metallic black with a flaming red moon on the hood. She visited her father often, ignoring her mother at all costs. She would help the restistance where she could, especially with monetary assistance.

Now, she was 23 and living the good life.

CURSED KNIGHT

6'5", 500 lbs.

No one knows who the Cursed Knight is or where he has come from. He appeared in Chicago a year ago and has since then plagued the city with his sporadic displays of senseless violence.

The armour of the Cursed Knight, seems invulnerable to the elements and thus far no projectile with the exception of a missile has been able to effect the super villain. He can fly, by rocket power and possesses the strength to throw mid-sized automobiles around. The Knight, has also used what appears to be a super heated jet blast from his hands as a ranged weapon.

In truth, the Cursed Knight is not a man, but an android, but no one has discovered this yet. As a machine, the Cursed Knight is immune to metal attacks and though he should be more susceptible to electrical damage he has thus far proved to be very resilient against RAID plasma weaponry and even EMP's.

(Thanks Tiph!)
Name: Kekoa Makaio
Age: 25

Appearance: Kekoa is slender for a Polynesian (so around average to the rest of us) with bronze skin, long black hair, and slanted, black eyes. He is fit and fairly muscular with a tattoo of a tribal dragon on his right bicep and a band of traditional Hawaiian design around his left bicep. He also has a symmetrical Hawaiian design going up his sides and creeping over his chest and back. Even in the city, he dresses very much like he lives in a fishing port on a tropical island with linen pants and a tank top or wife-beater. While he prefers going barefoot, he will tolerate sandals and only wear sneakers when absolutely necessary.

Personality: No one is quite sure what, if anything really, is wrong with Kekoa, but there is no doubt that he moves to the beat of his own drummer. He is happy-go-lucky and easy-going and seems to make light of even the gravest situations. He is willing to speak whatever comes to his mind but will also keep quiet, often seemingly floating in the serenity of his own little world. People who get to know him, however, will find that he is strangely cognizant if not intelligent and will come through in the end no matter how flighty he seems. Kekoa is an Islander at heart and adores swimming and the outdoors and will comment in passing when he feels cooped up in the city.

Powers: Water manipulation– Kekoa can manipulate incredible amounts of water when it is available to him. His control and ability is such that he can turn nearly anything moist into a weapon and has been known to shrivel plants, make tides out of snowdrifts, and even pull the moisture out of the air.

History: Kekoa's personality and strange ability kept him from being accepted in his tiny, traditional Hawaiian village. Even when he was shunned by children and adults alike, he never seemed bothered and went on his own merry away. Often by himself, he would play with his power or simply float along in the sea doing whatever appealed to him at the time, much to the chagrin to his teachers as a child who often had to go find him when he wandered off. As he grew, he began to learn more about the world outside of Ka'ona, Hawaii and his curiosity drifted him away as soon as he'd graduated high school. Keeping his true nature under wraps, Kekoa traveled the world doing odd jobs to support a simple living. He finally returned to the U.S. and found the denser cities to be extremely dangerous for metas. While in small villages and in the countryside he was relatively safe, the cities were crawling with RAID and FBI agents who would imprison him as soon as look at him. In his travels, he ran across Dominic Cassius and Zoe Polaris and became involved in an underground movement to protect metas. Finding this to be an interesting way to spend his life at the moment, Kekoa settled into a safehouse for metas in Chicago.

SIGMA SLAYER — Slate Morrison

Age: 32 • Hgt: 6'2" • Wgt: 210 lbs • Hair: Coal Black • Eyes: Blue Grey

Common Attire: Slate Blue Trenchcoat and wears a leather balaclava style mask.
(His name is derived from the colour of the coat he was wearing and the Doors CD he found in his pocket when he came too with no memories of his past.)

Slate is a well built man in his thirties standing six foot two and appearing to weigh approximately 225 lbs, but as is customary of his breed carries a little extra muscle fiber making him closer to 240 lbs. With his rugged good looks, coal black hair and cold blue grey coloured eyes, Slate appears as some heroes out of a 1950's movie, unfortunately his attitude doesn't even come close to matching his romantic appearance. When out on the prowl, Sigma always wears his slate blue coloured trench coat and when needed pulls up his leather mask to cover the lower half of his face to protect his identity, but most of the time he's wearing a pair of overalls and working on one of his many inventions. He does, however, have another alias, by the name of Carter Wilkes, a slick, immaculate, suit wearing agent whose identity he dons once in a while when required.

PERSONALITY

Slate is a gruff, no non-sense character who doesn't offer his trust quickly or easily. He's also a psychopath, but obviously due to some intervention in his black hole of a past he is able to function in society, in fact from his own perspective he attributes much of his success as crime fighter to this anamoly because he lacks many of the emotions that can be exploited. Of course, he is the first to admit that the way he perceives the world around him is a constant struggle to understand 'normal' behaviour and thus he spends much of his time studying people. A habit that makes him perceptive to a fault, lacking tact in his observations, often coming across as offensive, even obnoxious.

On the surface, Slate appears a normal person. He reacts properly to common social ques and leaves little to be questioned, except during those moments that will require true empathy. In such situations, most will simply dismiss his reaction as quirky, perhaps even relate it to a mild form of autism, but few would ever attribute it to a psychopathic mind unless they have experienced other behaviours to substantiate the conclusion.

ABILITIES

For reasons not remembered Slate is a well trained boxer and is able to use a variety of weapons. He is possessed of heightened attributes which make him a formidable adversary and is hard pressed to physically meet his match strength-wise in the Human world, but it can happen.

Sigma seems to have a gift for developing complex mechanical devices and was able to manufacture the whip himself. He is also a skilled programmer and can get through most network security, but even he has his limitations and cannot hack into the national defense network or access the FBI database; at least not without the assistance of Carter Wilkes.

His pain tolerance is extraordinary and aside from this has three significant abilities, the first being the power to heal. Slate can regenerate any injury so long as the object or projectile that has done the damage is removed from the wound. The healing process is not instantaneous, often taking a few hours or more depending on the type and amount of injuries he has suffered. If he loses too much blood or sustains a massive amount of damage he will fall into a coma and it is due to this fact that despite this ability, Slate is extremely cautious in battle. His second ability, if one can call it that, is one which, Slate, is not entirely convinced is something that he was born with but psychics are unable to read his thoughts or even draw any information from him. It is as if he doesn't exist to them. This 'shield' maybe connected to Sigma's memory loss, and perhaps it is something that was inflicted upon him. Last is 'super-precision'. Most meta-humans or mutants can react faster and are more coordinated than your average Human, but Sigma can take it to the next level. His mind can formulate and act on plans with incredible speed and perform maneuvers that most would find impossible to coordinate with ease, limited only to his own agility (he's no Spiderman).

ARMAMENTS

His coat which possesses some kevlar plating also hides a few gadgets, such devices that would assist in by-passing alarms, picking a lock, or locking up a criminal, etc. His weapon and tool of choice is his whip. A black baton made out of high density plastic that with a flick and twist of his wrist can unleash a mechanical tendril made out of a flexible, retracting form of Kevlar that can stretch up to seventy feet in length and is able to support a great amount of weight. It's end is a dart, and with enough velocity behind it can puncture a thin layer of metal, like that of a car door. It's pointed end also has the ability to change shape, thus allowing it to readily detach from surfaces it is embedded.

Sigma's other weapon of choice is his M9 Beretta 9mm Pistol, a standard semi-auto side arm with a 15 round magazine and aside from this and his whip also carries a variety of knives, razors and brass knuckles.

STORY

Slate, a.k.a. Sigma Slayer is basically an amalgamation of Wolverine, Rorschach and Dexter Morgan, with a little bit of Eddie Wilson thrown in to the mix. His past is a blur. Whether by his own or the hands of others, his memories are limited and all he knows of his life before has been revealed to him by brief, often incomprehensible flashes, but as a devout realist he doesn't care to linger in the past and only looks to the future.

When he first awoke in the pouring rain, he had no idea who he was or where he came from, the only clues to his past was the slate blue trench coat he was wearing, an old Doors CD in his pocket and a small tattoo of a sigma symbol on his chest. He derived his name from the items on his person and in time the name of Sigma Slayer would become known by the same very mark carved into his victims. The events that followed that first night were foggy, but according to Slate he wandered for a time, living in shelters and working odd jobs until one day as fate would have it he had an altercation with a work mate and literally tore the man apart without even thinking about it. The man, was rushed to hospital and later died, and Slate, he was long gone and on the run. That's when he encountered a man with a badge who introduced himself as agent Wilkes and said he was going to take him in. A fight ensued, and during it, Slate was shot several times, yet still managed to subdue his opponent and unfortunately kill him. Weakened and bloody, Slate took what he needed from the agent who coincidentally bore a remarkable resemblance to Slate, so much so that one would be hard pressed to tell the two of them a part if they were standing side by side. At the time, Slate was in no fit state to unravel the mystery and fled the scene after taking the agent's credential's and his flashy black Lexus.

After he healed from wounds which should have taken his life, Slate had clearer picture of what he was and knew from that point on that he possessed gifts that could either get him whatever he wanted or make a difference. He learned quickly afterwards, that whomever, agent Carter Wilkes was, the man had several bank accounts with substantial funds and because he appeared so much like the man was able to impersonate him and gain access to the money but Slate didn't stop there. He actually had little interest and living the life of a high-roller and was more interested in the fact that not only did he look just like this agent, but his finger prints matched as well. The man had certainly not approached him like some long lost brother, so how could this be? As Slate struggled to recall the events of that night, the details became blurry and he was unable to recall them with clarity; he began to wonder if in fact it happened at all and perhaps he had been agent Carter Wilkes all along. A deep cover agent working to infiltrate the mutant community, a concept that wasn't so far fetched but Slate knew he was anything but a spy. Whoever this look alike was, he was dead and Slate was able to use his identity to gain precious information when he required it. He kept the car, and stashed it away in the old garage that he purchased, the place that would become the start of his knew life. A life built upon satisfying a malicious desire to hunt and leave his mark upon them, an impulse that could easily lead to his own demise but instead he turned it to good, preying upon the diseased minds and criminals that plagued the city. The police knew his mark, and began to call him the Sigma Slayer.

Sigma drives an old 1983 blue coloured Cordoba which he has modified with a few booby-traps, a high performance engine and bullet proof glass. It's nothing special, but he prefers the old 80's boats.

Vehicle:
Blue 1983 Chrysler Cordoba.

DWELLING

Old garage at the end of Damen Street South, located in the near the train yard. It has three bays, the outside ones are used to park his blue Cordoba and his black Lexus. The middle bay is his work area.

Name: Ayana Baxter
Age: 26
Code Name: Seizure

Appearance: Tall and slender, Ayana clearly shows her Kenyan roots as she stands around 5'8 with smooth, brown skin and large, brown eyes. She wears her hair in thin, simple cornrows and dresses simply in jeans and t-shirts.

Personality: Ayana was always studious and quiet, sometimes hesitant to speak her mind. Since joining the Resistance, she has since come out of her shell a bit but remains reserved and practical. Though she is somewhat shy and with a sweet disposition, she also feels strongly about her cause and can be calculating and cold when the circumstances require it. She will think things through and do what needs to be done, even if this means harming people. She is, however, very reluctant to kill as she knows she will have a hard time dealing with the idea of taking a life.

Powers: Telekinesis– Ayana has the power to move objects with her mind. The bigger the object, the more concentration it requires.

Mental blast/Disorientation– She can project her power through her mind and into someone else's causing a kind of psychic anguish that isn't quite physical but certainly not all mental. This can be incapacitating to some but agonizing to the strongest of people, human or meta. If she wants to soften the blow significantly, she can use this same power in a weakened form to cause someone to become confused and disoriented making it harder to react.

Telepathy– She can project her thoughts into someone else in order to communicate. With a little more concentration she can read minds but she prefers to limit this as she feels it is an intense invasion of privacy. Because of this, she is not as well practiced and can only read minds from a short distance away (around 20 feet away).

History: Ayana was always a quiet bookworm who played it safe. By high school, of course, this was not easily accepted by her friends and in their quest to bring her out of her shell, they convinced her go out with them one day with another group whom she considered a little wild. The night began fine, however, and the sixteen year-old Ayana was starting to consider expanding her horizon's when the ex-boyfriend of one of the other girls showed up, angry, drunk, and violent. Leaving quickly, they piled into a car and took off, speeding down the street with a terrified Ayana in the front seat.

They were sure they lost him for a few minutes until he appeared coming from the other direction, speeding towards them in the same, narrow lane. Sure she was going to die, Ayana squeezed her eyes shut and waited for the blow. The sound of metal crashing and twisting screamed into her ears along with the cries of the girls in the car with her. It wasn't until a few seconds later when she felt the car screech to a halt and opened her eyes to find the boyfriend's car wrapped around a tree, his body slumped over the wheel and branches sticking out of the windows like a grizzly dart board. Ayana wasn't sure why, but she knew she had had something to do with it. The autopsy merely stated that he had had some sort of seizure and crashed.

Ayana kept her powers a secret, quietly experimenting with them and growing in control and talent. As the world grew more and more against her kind, she found herself calculating her nearly every move, terrified that she was going to somehow let on her true nature. Even her parents, who had jumped on the anti-meta bandwagon, made her paranoid at times. When she heard about a secret pro-meta movement lurking in her hometown of Chicago's underbelly, Ayana, then 18, decided to sneak into a meeting and find out more about it. Immediately, she found herself hooked and decided to put her powers to good use in the name of peace for both humans and metas. She now lives in a safehouse with Kekoa Makaio, sheltering metas in danger and helping fight against RAID and the FBI. For their safety and hers, she has lost contact with her parents.

Ursula Maddock - ULTRAMARINE

6'2", 170 lbs, Auburn Hair and Blue Green Eyes. Age: 35

She is muscular, but like many meta-human's her heightened strength is the result of increased muscle density and thus has less bulk than a Human of equal strength would have.

By night she is known as Ultramarine, a name she picked up because of her blue coloured camouflage outfit and commando style boots. She, however, is nothing like a soldier. The uniform, like her blue coloured mask is simply to protect her identity, a persona that contrasts her true identity. She possesses a minor mutant ability that allows her to alter the colour of her hair at will, so she uses it to change her hair to Ultramarine's silvery white.

By day, Ursula Maddock, is an image consultant, making wealthy women beautiful. She is more than just a beautician and offers private pilates classes, diet consultation and creates a brand new life-style for her clients. The name, Maddock is well known in her industry and she has worked very hard to separate her two worlds.

Ursula Maddock lives in a plush downtown apartment, which also serves as her office where she holds consultations and provides anything from private yoga lessons to spa treatments for the right price. Her services are considered prestigious among Chicago's aristocracy. By contrast, the abode of Ultramarine, is near South Side and even as she begins to travel there her entire demeanor changes, to the point where one might consider her to have a split personality disorder.

She owns a warehouse under a false name that had no ties to her real life what-so-ever, and it is there that she releases her inner self. The area is basically half gym and half garage, on one side a classic sweat shop for her high powered work outs and combat training and on the other a well ordered, mechanics paradise, where she works on her many motorcycles.

Maddock is an exceptional mechanic. She has built Ultramarine's street bike by taking best of every model and combining it into a precision machine, plus she has used her mutant ability to make it's alloys non-magnetic and as hard as metal can become - adamantium.

Powers and Abilities

Ultramarine, is stronger and faster than normal, as most meta-humans tend to be. She has learned how to fight in several styles of hand to hand combat and her skills, combined with her heightened attributes makes her more than a match for just about any street punk in a melee fight.

She can impermanently weaken or strengthen the composition of any (non-living)mineral. This power allows her to turn bullets in putty, still giving a good sting, but not penetrating the flesh and she can also increase the strength of metal or wood, thus making her motorcycle's body impervious to attacks or making a door as strong as steel. The effects have a very short duration, once she moves out of range, and it will become a strain to maintain the transformation for a great length of time.

When she does choose to use a ranged weapon which does happen on occasion, depending on her mood, she modifies the alloy of her her guns and bullets, transforming them to adamantium or something non-magnetic, if required.

Ursula Maddock above all despises prostitution and most of her crime fighting centers around killing pimps and madames. She is, however, not liked by the street walkers as she preys on them as well, viewing them as weak women Ultramarine occasionally makes an example of them as well if she learns that any of them sell themselves by their own choice.

The Amazon
UNREGISTERED META-HUMAN and WANTED BY RAID
True Identity: Jennifer Milan

APPEARANCE:
Standing at an impressive 6’5”, the Amazon is a rather tall woman with an intimidating gaze. Long, brown hair and deep brown eyes with a golden tan skin tone, she got her name from the fact she spent her youth with a native tribe in the Amazon Rain Forest with her parents looks like she is the embodiment of the mythical women warriors of the Amazon.

HISTORY
The Amazon first appeared on scene shortly after the Riggs Act was enacted. Everyone thought she was the most beautiful woman they had ever seen. The perfect body with the perfect face. But she soon proved she was anything but perfect. She craves material things and she must have them, regardless the cost.

Using her enhanced strength, she robs businesses blind, harboring all of her wares in different locations throughout the city of Chicago. RAID has tried, to no avail, to bring her to justice, but for some reason, the agents sent to bring her in are found wondering the streets aimlessly with no memory of ever coming in contact with her.

Having numerous residences under assumed names, The Amazon makes it very difficult to find her, especially when the RAID agents can’t even remember if they saw her or not. Not that it would matter for she's always in disguise when she commits her crimes. Wearing an animal print, spandex outfit and her face painted with traditional Amazonian war paint, she looks as frightening as any halloween nightmare. All of the things she steals, she uses to either finance her daily needs or sells them on the black market for an astronomical price to pad her own wallet if she doesn’t use them herself.

POWERS/ABILITIES/SKILLS/WEAPONS
Incredible Strength
The Amazon has incredible strength by being able to will a tremendous amount of brain energy into her muscles and limbs by Amazon training.

Fly
As a result of her constant training and meditation, she developed the skill to fly using the wind currents within the city thus making her escape rather easy for herself.

Weapon
The reason why the RAID agents lose their memory about contacting her is the fact she uses a strange, rope like weapon made of an unknown material that when looped around a persons body they lose all memory of her.

(think of a baaaaaad Wonder Woman)

Metallic Marauder

EXPENDABLE NPC

Age: 24 • Hgt: 6'4" • Wgt: 240 lbs • African American. Brown Eyes and Black Hair

Powers: Heightened Strength and Agility. Wears a light weight armoured suit that repels bullets and elemental attacks.

Transportation: Motorcycle

Metallic Marauder is actually Tevin Williams, a ex-athlete turned stock broker. He is a stereo-typical super-hero type. He always has a 'game plan' and has the annoying to tendency to speak in 'sport metaphors (or similes)'. One of his common saying is, "It's time to give it a hundred and fiddy percent." Which REALLY annoys the hell out of Sigma, whose precise mind cannot understand how one can exceed 100% of something.

Tevin basically woke up one day and said, I think I'll be a 'super-hero'. A gifted athlete he always suspected that he was different and when he ended up in the possession of a 'super suit' he decided to use it to fight crime despite all the risks. To the other Resistance fighters, he is a loose canon and it's only a matter of time before he gets himself killed or takes someone down with him.

He knows Ultramarine better than the others because she works on his motorcycle. He knows the location of her secret warehouse and garage, but they do not share their true identities.

Name: Jessica (Jess) Montgomery aka: Snap Dragon
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 125 pounds
Age:24
Hair:color of fall leaves, auburn streaked with dark orange and red. Medium in length
Eyes: Green
Skin tone: Light brown
Body type: Slim yet athletic
Abilities: Can focus on a tree limb, small branch, leaves, vines, ivy, any living plant and use it as she sees fit, but she must be within 25 feet maximum of the plant life in order to have the desired effect. She has a green thumb (not literally) and can grow just about anything, loving the peacefullness of plants.

Jess is part of the resistance and is a non-registered meta. She stays to the parks and areas that have plenty of plant life when she is out and about in her alias.

Jessica has no real family to speak of. She was an orphan, left on the steps of a church when she was just a baby. She was a willful child, but loving and compassionate. She grew to be a lovely young woman with the ability to control plants. The nuns who raised her accepted her gift as just that, a gift, teaching some about natural medicinal herbs.

When Jessica turned 18, she headed out on her own, working various jobs here and there in the Windy City. When she was 22, she had been evicted from her apartment, was being hounded for not being registered, when she came across Silicone in a small scuffle in an alleyway. She lent a hand as Silicone was taking a beating. Afterwards, Silicone took her in and she'd been living at Green Street Base ever since.

GRAVE SIGHT
Registered Meta-human

True Identity: Everet Delved
Age: Appears: 30 (actually 44 - longevity mutation). 6'1", 185 lbs. Light brown eyes and Brown hair.
Accent: New Zealand

Before the passing of the Riggs Act, Everet painted his face white, blackened his hair and threw on a dark gothic costume. He used the persona of death for his alter ego since his meta-ability was psychometry, the ability to see into the past of any significant object, a power that even existed among certain humans, or so it was believed. Grave Sight's sensitivity to psychic impressions was so powerful that he knew things that were best left secret and was constantly haunted with visions of history with every step he took. Eventually he learned to control his ability through a combination of meditative exercises and anti-psychotic drugs and was able to lead a semi-normal life but when required he could accurately delve into the past of any object he held or even stood near.

Gifted with an extremely high I.Q., Everet rarely partook in the combat, preferring to remain behind the scenes and only a few other super heroes ever witnessed him in combat. Those that might have been able to enlighten people of his fighting prowess are now dead and while it is evident that he possessed a lean, muscular build, none could be sure what he was truly capable of, if anything.

(In truth, Everet's fighting skills are exceptional and he possesses strength and speed far greater than he lets on. He will not display these skills before witnesses, unless it is a matter of life and death and his genius cannot calculate another alternative. He does this to retain a certain level of anonymity among Humans and his own kind. He carries a sword cane with him most of the time and is an exceptional swordsman.)

A successful businessman with several degrees, Everet was quick to register when the opportunity arose and unlike many who were persecuted for what they were, he was praised. He became even more popular and his business ventures became even more lucrative. His identity made public, Everet was also requested to assist police and even F.B.I., to lend his talents to their unsolved cases to which he agreed, but never would use his powers against meta-humans, unless they were truly guilty of a crime.

Depending upon the potency of the psychic impressions left behind in an area or object, Grave Sight will see some or all of it's past. It will unfurl around him like a series of movies playing over and over until the end of time itself sometimes crystal clear and sometimes foggy.

Everet is originally from New Zealand and had moved to the States, three years before the passing of the Riggs act in 2004.

Everet will sometimes assist the resistance, but most of the time prefers to keep his distance.

The Late Silicone Surfer - Joanne Keys

Human

Computer Genius

The Murder Investigation

Silicone Surfer had been a dependable colleague. He hadn't felt anything when she died, but now a week later he thought perhaps that he did miss her a little, he at least missed her computer talents and her late night raids of the pop machine in the kitchen at Green Street. She loved Mountain Dew and had told him she always imagined that anti-freeze would taste similar, to which Sigma had flatly assured her that it wouldn't and she just crinkled her nose and laughed. She didn't deserve to die like she did. The story was that she had fought back when the RAID agents busted into her home, but Sigma knew that she wasn't a fighter, she had a hard enough time prying open a can of pop let alone throwing her fist into the riot helmet of a RAID enforcer. She was definitely a victim, but who would have wanted to set her up? Silicone always stayed behind the scenes and people were hardly aware that she existed, and if they did none of them would have known her true identity. Joanne Keys. Sigma had always thought she looked like a 'Joe'. Guess he did miss her.

— Sigma Slayer (May 22)

The apartment had already been picked over by police who had conducted a follow up investigation after RAID bagged their meta-human, but Slate did find something at the scene that he had found very interesting. On a scribble pad beside her phone, Silicone had been drawing the same picture over and over again. Sigma had often noticed that she doodled while in thought or on the phone, and the last thing she had been subconsciously sketching was a what appeared to be a pole with wings, at least that's all he could make out.

There was also something else that puzzled him and that was the amount of plasma scorches, enough to infer that there was a fire fight, but between whom? He found bullet holes in the wall that matched with the report of Silicone firing six rounds at the enforcers before they fried her which meant that she was not returning plasma fire. Something stank, and it wasn't Micro Chip's litter box.

— Sigma Slayer (May 22)
