Life After the Cataclysm - Changing Landscape Empty
PostSubject: Life After the Cataclysm - Changing Landscape   Life After the Cataclysm - Changing Landscape Icon_minitimeFri Jun 12, 2009 10:04 am

The world, as it used to be, is not the world that now exists. Gone is the lush, thick greenery that used to inhabit most of the planet. Water is scarce. City streets are now nothing more than deserted wastelands where the once towering skyscrapers have crumbled creating a different kind of harsh jungle. While some places of that green, lush vegetation does still remain, it’s few and far between.

Those people and animals who survived the initial devastation have evolved into something different over the years since the first nuke was detonated. While some people have been able to hold onto their humanity, others have regressed to nothing more than savages. The radiation has poisoned the air and the ground. Even after all these years, it’s still present. And because of that, many new, dangerous creatures have risen from the ashes. Creatures once thought to be figments of imaginations or from the scene of a horror movie. Now they are all too real.

Some people have even taken science to a different level. A more….sinister level. One that has brought about a new species of humanity. If that’s what you want to call them. Gene splicing has a whole new meaning as these mad scientists have successfully spliced the genes of animals with humans creating a species that not only has all the keen senses of the animal it was spliced with but can morph into that animal. Human and animal are now one. Far advanced from any hybrid and twice as deadly.

Shape shifters. Unpredictable. Deadly. Strong and agile. They are exactly what they have been created to be and then some. Worst of all, no one knows where they are or where they will show up next. And unlike the hybrids who were created as the ultimate war machines, these creatures were developed for one reason and one reason only: To destroy.

No matter who they are.

Or were they?

This story takes place in the same time frame as the other story in Apocalyptic Dawn, only in a different area of the United States. The characters in this story are located in what once used to be known as Denver, Colorado. It’s in ruins and not as big as it used to be. There are mountains, but the trees are only about 50 every mile or so. In between is nothing but hard ground and a mixture of brown and green grass. There are some animals, but they have mutated and adapted to this new world. (Ideas on this would be greatly appreciated).
