I know... I need to get the story description up don't I. In a nutshell (if possible), there are nine factions of "ancients" that are in fact magic users/knights/warriors. It's a modern time story with medieval components. If you read the classes and races section you might get an idea about what I mean about that. There are nine factions that remain underground and for the most part let humanity live their lives. These nine factions are comprised of three alignments, lawful, neutral and evil. The lawful (or good) attempt to eradicate evil doings, the evil attempt to see that their agenda is fulfilled, and the neutral do whatever it takes to maintain the balance of the two other powers. With that said they will be played "true" neutral in that they will side with whatever faction is attempting to upset the balance of power. An example would be if some group of lawful people decided they were going to eradicate all evil from the planet the neutral factions would actually join forces with the evil and fight them. The Neutral faction is comfortable with people dying if they need to die so that order and balance can be maintained. With this system it would be unwise to go on some holy crusade or evil bent because you might end up fighting six other factions. The playables are divided into "houses", so each class can have multiple lineages or groups that they fight under. These are not established so you can make them up for yourself. This is an idea that seraphim and I have been kicking around for a while (few years) and we encourage people to bring ideas to the table for those kind of high level things. SO far we have have only two houses established, the House of Raven in the Druidic class and the House of Helleborine in the Stormborn class. If people are members of the same house they are most likely related somehow. One of the main things we are focusing on is that many of the major, landmark events in human history are really the result of something going right, or wrong, in the workings of the nine factions. One example is the eruption of Vesuvius was actually sparked off by a crazed Druid who was attempting to become more powerful, or the story of Robin Hood is actually a real story based a group of lawful characters who were fighting an evil lord that was attempting to take over the whole of Europe... stuff like that. Basically ANYTHING you can think of from history can be somehow tied to a characters lineage, we just ask that you run it by us first. Seraphim is creating a character that will be a descendant of Sir Lancelot from the legend of King Arthur... that is what I am talking about Does that help? I am still trying to come up with a solid "what is this game" sort of description, but I hope I nutshelled it for you ____________________________________________________________________________________ "I want to change the world but they won't give me the source code"

| I am definately interested!!! I think this is what I need to expand my horizons so to speak. I will do some research as I am interested in something along the Celtic/Druid side of things. Preferably dealing with wolves (naturally lol). I am better with weaponary than magick as I tend to get carried away with that side of things. However, is it possible to have something of a warrior class with minimum magickal abilities? ____________________________________________________________________________________ Judge not nor fear that or those which you do not understand, for it or they may be someone or something that will aid you in the trials of your life.

Sin, Take a look at the character's Z and I have put up. That might give you an idea of what you might be looking for. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

Druids are pure casters so you might want to go with another class if you don't want to play a pure magic user. There are three classes that are hybrid and three that are pure fighters. Let me or Mike know if you have any other questions ____________________________________________________________________________________ "I want to change the world but they won't give me the source code"

| Am trying to find more information on Gawain of Camelot. Does anyone know what his last name was? I know that he was King Arthur's nephew but who was his mother? It wasn't Morgan I don't think. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Judge not nor fear that or those which you do not understand, for it or they may be someone or something that will aid you in the trials of your life.

Because Mike has already created a Camelot linked character could I request that you hook your characters lineage into another legend? I only ask so that we don't end up with a narrow scope. If you are really set on the character then that is fine, but I was hoping for a broad spectrum ____________________________________________________________________________________ "I want to change the world but they won't give me the source code"

When Scott and I were brainstorming, that was the immediate image that popped into my head for good ol' Alge. I think I'm going to have a LOT of fun bringing him to life. |

| Okay, Zinsk, I can do that. Any suggestions? I am more familiar with Camelot but am willing and interested to expand my horizons. I will keep searching but am open to suggestions. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Judge not nor fear that or those which you do not understand, for it or they may be someone or something that will aid you in the trials of your life.

| A PROPOSAL
I would like to propose that for the most part these individuals will "get along" for lack of a better way to put it ... (maybe, tolerate) one another when in the same space. Especially when there are gatherings of the factions.
EXAMPLE: Think the movie Highlander, how they would not fight on holy ground, a similar concept that there are places they simply will not engage in combat. I am thinking for starters in the chamber where the council of nine meets. I would assume it safe to say there are high officials, etc. present and they won't engage in anything more than heated debate.
I place it along the line of X-Men where mutants of opposing mindsets don't just start bashing one another on-sight, they are and know they are a cut above humanity and therefore they have a certain level of mutual respect for one another but they won't engage in combat at the drop of the hat as they ARE a secret society living among mankind (for now).
Now with that said, if a Sentinel comes across a Shade and she knows that she is up to no good, he will confront her. So I am NOT suggesting no fighting, let's face it we all love writing out the fight scenes and I would like there to be a LOT of action, but I think a level of banter/tension and such is good for the writing... Does that sound reasonable? ____________________________________________________________________________________ "I want to change the world but they won't give me the source code"
