Yeah, I see the Great Ta'kun being the more noble race by default because they are more like the Dragons themselves. Perhaps, the Lesser were the first created but inferior to the greater species that followed them?

The Greater seem to know that their place is at the side of the Dragons and therefor are content with their place in the world, while the Lesser are constantly squabbling over the scraps. I also feel that because of this the Greater are naturally more subservient and less prone to disobedience and are consequently a little more dull witted. The Lesser are crafty and malicious, always seeking opportunities.

Oh, there is much more to Mierithal than meets the eye. Something that even eluded Cursha.

I know we all have been distracted from this storyline for various reasons. Would anyone mind if we jumped ahead a few days to where Colleen, the kids and Elija have all settled into thier new digs for say a couple of days? That way everyone will still be discovery things and Colleen's reputaion as a quaility craftswoman could be getting started

Sin would like to join into this story and I have advised her that a lot information was lost during the move and that this is basically a period piece set in a Victorian Time in another world.

We need to write a brief description of the world so that newcomers can understand the story.

We also need to discuss what kind of character Sin could bring into the story at this point and time that would be relevant to the story and assist in building the plot. (The one thing that we cannot allow right now is to have another character with Enchanting powers... that is solely for Colleen.)

I can't remember where the different magic types are? I was thinking that we could expand the magic a bit more and not have it so strict.

I'll post as soon as I can figure a way to disperse all the new characters I threw in. 'Kallend's Crew', as I shall refer to them, are obviously a bunch of older 'magic-users' and I guess I sort of set the stage for a possible fact that those who use magic have the potential to live longer.

I threw in Kallend's Crew, just so that there are a variety of other characters that Colleen, Elija and Raj can learn from during their time in Meirathal. I thought it would offer everyone more choices and a way to expand the story without having to rely solely on Marshall Kallend as the sole mentor. This way you guys can use the characters at your leisure.

Sounds alright? It also adds some more shopkeepers to the town as well. If they aren't used it's no biggy. I mentioned them in a previous post and thought I'd put faces to them.

I was thinking the same thing about allowing us to expand our storylines by having tghe added NPC's to interact with. I think it was an excellent idea, Tiph.

Types of magic, I remember, were Elemental, Mind, Shadow & I believe the last one was healing. Not sure though.

As for what sort of character Sin could create and join in eventually would be one that is a regular of Meithral. Perhaps a healer of sorts who has a gentle touch and soft spoken voice and isn't afraid to step forward and do what's right.

The influx of people from Fort Glory into Meithral will have a profound affect on the citizens of the coastal village. Not to mention many of the refugees could have suffered some sort of injuries during the conflict with the Ta'Kun.

That's just my thoughts on that for now. I'm sure I'll come up with SOMETHING later that might help.

I like that idea. Perhaps she could be the daughter of one of 'Kallend's Crew'. Someone who is just learning their art, and being tutored from the doctor who has the ability. Although I don't see her being the daughter of the doctor that would be too cliché.

Maybe not the daughter of the doctor himself but definately the daughter of one of the other citizens.

Maybe someone the doctor noticed took to tending to sick and injured animals when they were smaller and kept an eye on her as she grew up and realized he found someone with a natural hand for taking over his job when the time came. Make him her mentor of sorts.

Lac, I am glad that you resurrected the other Fort Glory Characters. Good job.

I am currently working on a Lord Yassun Post, just to keep people apprised as to what is happening in Fort Glory.

I referred to world as Korradanth. I am not sure if the entire world has ever been given a name. Please feel free to elaborate on my idea of magic and the Draconian language.

I think I've kind of turned Elija into a Messiah. Not sure what you guys may think of that.

I think Elija can be a somewhat relunctant messiah complete with those that not only want to silence him but also use him. (Scounger & Splevey for two )
Thoughts?

Oh, I personally think Elija is a prime candidate for such a burden to be dropped on his shoulders. What I am envisioning is to follow, Elija through his life to adulthood. If we agree that he should be a pivotal character in the story then we can occasionally have time lapses allowing us to leap ahead in years. No More Dream can become an epic story line.

I don't think that Elija will learn how to use his gift while he is still a child. To wield such a power, he will need a lot of training and there are much adventures to be had a long the way. Over such a lengthy amount of time we will also have characters retire and new ones take their places, some will even succumb to old age.

How does that sound?

That sounds like the perfect thing to do, Tiph. I'm all for it.

Will Colleen age any since she is a magical being? Will Raj?

Colleen and Raj have extended life spans. They will age slowly. I like to think that their longevity is based upon the extent of their magical powers and their own desire to keep going. The end will come, but who really knows how long they can live. Perhaps at times some magical beings will hardly age any differently than a normal Human for some reason or another.

The members of the Coven have all aged a different rates and some seem to be more resilient than others.

While some pass on, characters like Raj and Colleen will linger. I imagine that Elija himself will grow normally until he reaches adulthood (about 21 to 25 years) then the magic in his blood will kick in.

Whoa! That was a cool post Lac! Those runes look just like what I imagined a Dragon's cuneiform style of writing would look like. (No doubt learned and used by the Tiann people I am thinking).

Sweet! That opens up a lot avenues for the development of the Dragon Lore. Please, share how you might envision this evolving.

Thanks I actually have the a pic of the runes with corresponding english lettters and numbers althought how ti actually write in the rumes I have not a clue how to do. perhaps I can find a translator somewhere much like the elvish translator. As far as evolving I would think perhaps Elija over time, a lengthy period of time of studing them would become able to translate them. Of course he is going to have to learn to read first. Or perhaps the Dragon voices would start speaking to his mind. When they did he would go into a trance like state and begin autowriting. What do you think?

I love it. No one else can decipher the Draconian Runes, but we can assume that at one time Humans could read it, but the knowledge was lost. The one thing I believe is truly unique of Elija is that he will one day be able to speak the telepathic Draconic language, which we should establish that no Human ever mastered.

The Dragons can telepathically speak other dialects of their speech which the Tiann people could learn, and hence were able to learn the Draconian Runes. Kallend can speak a few words of the minor Dragon languages and can assist Elija somewhat in deciphering the runes once he learns how to read. Kallend, however, will only be able to offer some guidance.

I think learning the Draconic written language will be a necessary step for Elija to learn the Ancient Dragon Tongue, but it is only a stage. I do no think the old powerful language will exist in a written form.

I agree, I see the scrolls only as tools for Elija's development. The fact he found the stone to open the throne room will show his connection. As none of the others even knew it existed. The dragon voices are the key that will open a whole new world to Elija. And the ultimate realization of his destiny.
Thought?

That sounds totally cool. I really like that idea, and it provides a lot of space and time for development, as it will definitely take Elija many years to fully understand his powers and his destiny.

Perhaps through the runes he will learn that there were two races of dragons. One friendly and protective of the humans and one wanting ultimate dominace and to enslave the humans. A great battle took place and the "good" dragons were defeated and riven from the lands. But a prophecy dictates that the "good" dragons would rise again to defeat the "bad" dragons with the help of a human.
