Characters can be from Earth or can even be supernatural beings from Everlasting Night who secretly live among people in the primary world. Obviously, such characters will look human if they are able to move about and not be distinguished, but some can dwell underground away from prying eyes in secret societies as well.

Everlasting Night, encompasses all creatures of supernatural lore, from malicious elves to werewolves and beyond.

You may not post until your character is approved.

Waryn Parsefal - Private Investigator

MAJOR CHARACTER

Hgt: 6'0" • Wgt: 185 lbs • Hair: Sandy Blonde • Eyes: Blue • Age: 40

Waryn Parsefal is an incantor and a private investigator. While he possesses the skills to perform incantations he chooses to live a normal life, relying on his gun before a wand. He does, however, employ the use of 'Wards' and 'Spells' when necessary, but these charms that are designed to combat magic are not illegal and so he carries a variety to defend himself from magic when needed.

'His days as a member of the Pentacalium were over, but at one time Parsefal was an incantor of merit, even sat on the Silver Council for a time. Unfortunately, he and the others didn't see eye to eye on matters and he decided to leave, at least that was the story he told people.'

The Oberon Arms, a small red bricked apartment block located on the corner of Shakespeare and Oakley in Bucktown sleepily met the morning sun. The man in the one upper floor apartment walked across his living room, a coffee in one hand, the Chicago Tribune in the other.

The Count is Approved

You may want to add a little bit more to the write up after you have familiarized yourself with the new setting. I am assuming he is a supernatural being, most likely a Vampyre, so not only does he have to remain hidden from local law enforcement, but should be prove to be a threat to society the Watchers of the Pentacalium will also hunt him.

Viktor Approved

Very interesting. You know what I see happening is an entire story surrounding the Count. Don't hesitate to really develop the Count's world. What has been currently defined in the setting of Everlasting Night, does not have to be the dominant story line at all, delving more into the supernatural side seems much more appealing. The more one has to hide, the better.

You are free and clear to make Viktor a supernatural being if you wish. His nature can be revealed at any time in the story to maintain suspense.

For consideration:

The Reverend William Black

Physical Description: The disgraced reverend is a man in his early sixties, he wears glasses in the style of the time but the lenses are always blacked out. The reverend stands 5 foot 7 inches or so but is slightly hunched over. His skin is ashen and gray, he has many small warts about his hands and arms. The reverend is always smartly dressed with a fine suit and tie and a long black over coat. The reverend has salt and pepper hair that is usually uncombed, a stark difference to his fine tailored clothes.

Personality: Moderators willing, the reverend is a villainous man, he is an incantor and a talented alchemist. He has long since turned his back on his good past and his old faith and now fully embraces secrets and things that slither in the dark. He spends countless hours mixing foul elixirs in his well guarded home and will have one or more of his potent recipes on his person at all times.

History and background: The reverend was a pious man and and real reverend, at some point a great deal of darkness intruded into his life and changed everything. Now the once religious man is a twisted, venomous shadow of his old self. The reverend spends a great deal of time sending his followers and henchmen out into Chicago to hunt down witch hunters. When they are found and brought to the reverend, they are seldom seen or heard from again.

Skills and powers: The reverend is not against straight spell casting but prefers potions and the like, he may throw down a vial that fills the area with choking gas, or a mist that renders his enemies asleep. He also has far worse recipes in his small glass bottles. The reverend will always have at least two of his disposable goons with him, many more if he is at home. This blasphemous man is known to choke the life out of his captive and bound enemies with his own two hands.

Mattias Hexennacht

MAJOR CHARACTER

Hgt: 6'4" • Wgt: 225 lbs • Hair: Chestnut Brown • Eyes: Blue • Age: Appears to be 35.

Mattias was once a Witch Hunter, forced to bring his kind before the justice of the Greylon world, but things were not always so. His life began in the world of Everlasting Night, born within that dark realm he grew up in those lands that teetered on the fringe of what people perceived as real. His mother, an incantor was taken from the sunlit world by that thing that was his father, a beast from the shadows.

Mattias' father was a werewolf, but more wolf than man, a creature that lived most of its life on four legs but could rise to two during those rare times when the moon hung in the sky like a great golden lantern. Mattias' mother, many, many years ago met a handsome traveling man beneath the harvest moon, who stayed with her for a time before she, like so many other women was abandoned. She later learned she was pregnant and prepared herself to raise her bastard son alone but when the birthing became near the father returned and stole her away into the night.

Life was struggle for Mattias, fending himself every day from ever present monsters and his own nature. Born a lycanthrope, Mattias was more man than beast and though he lived on two legs he could never completely the deny the wolf within him. What powers it passed to him came with a curse that he has fought against his entire life, going so far as to have painfully endured the tattooing of his skin with all manners of charms and wards to prevent the wolf from escaping. Even, so the blood that runs through his veins cannot never be changed and despite all his best efforts chains are sometimes necessary to protect the world from his unbridled thirst.

If Mattias had not believed that he was doing the world a service he would have destroyed himself long ago, but the fact remains that he has brought to justice more incantors and destroyed more creatures of darkness than any other Witch Hunter to date. HIs efforts have been so appreciated that he had been released from his service and presented with the rights and freedoms of a citizen as he has proven to be trustworthy and just. Both the Pentacalium and the Greylons hold him in high esteem and call upon his services when monsters stalk the night threatening all.

He no longer hunts incantors, unless they have proved to be a threat to the innocent, instead he is a Monster-Killer. He hunts all those that have strayed from the World of Everlasting Night and either drives them back or destroys them.

Mattias dresses in out of date garments because he was born in a different time, long before the industrialization of the world. He dwells between worlds now, living in those places where Everlasting Night, touches upon the day of the other. HIs common attire is a variety of black leathers, and a dark trench coat beneath which he carries all manners of weapons to deal with common monsters and perhaps some rare ones.

An old character slightly changed back to wreak havoc or at least try to keep the night at bay.

Dimitri Vletchcoff

Subtle Character
Hgt: 6’2" • Wgt: 220 lbs • Hair: Brown/grey • Eyes: Grey • Age: N/a

Dimitri is an agent of the watchers permanently ridiculed as the worst around as he seems to be unable to work magic to protect himself unable to use such fancy tricks of levitation or an offensive fireball, he has always found even at birth that being sleight of hand and devious more in his expertise, he finds the use of iron wards and many other talismans of protection or warding a useless thing as he found himself born to render himself well...lightly put...undetectable, as he carves complicated sigils upon his skin millions of scar drawings upon his back.

He is a ghost hopping between groups an information hoarder keeping billions of papers within the chapel he holds residence in newspapers, reports even logbooks he has written in his wispy hand writing his manners almost immaculate from writing to eating but his mannerisms didn’t pay off on his dress code. Dimitri finds himself wearing the same cloths most would think they were uniform maybe so for an earlier generation of watchers as he wears old brown trousers, a dark brown shirt coated in pips of an army regiment on his collar and an overcoat stained and patched its basic colour once being a brown with a soviet sickle and hammer badge on its lapel.

He was ridiculed of his magic with his constant sketching of sigils on his skin instead of incantations with items of power but many bother not to look into the training sessions he dedicated himself to during his time back in Russia. All were related to combat experience all he had excelled in his weapons expertise higher than his other agents as they depended on their magic, ‘fools’ most agents held a code always sticking to it for some reason. Dimitri just couldn’t stick to such a thing with so many rules stopping him from doing his job his code; if someone does wrong simply punish them, none of that stuff, even a women must not be hit he found that... weak.

Dimtri was a man of simple kit his dress including a small shoulder slung brown bag of leather big enough to hold....well a few magazines for his automatic pistol Mauser C96 customised with .45’s instead of 7.63x25mm and a log book to put gathered information in, without his coat it becomes apparent by bulges on his arms he carries a pair of hidden retractable arm blades, weapons of his choosing under most circumstances the pistol being a last resort when he saw no hope in a bladed weapon working.
